Potential Threat Believed To Not Target Crawford County, Ohio Schools

The Crawford County, Ohio Sheriff’s Office received information during the early morning hours of a potential threat against an unidentified school district in Crawford County on Tuesday, October 16, 2018.

Crawford County Sheriff Scott Kent immediately alerted the local police chiefs and the superintendents from the county’s six school districts. Sheriff Kent and his staff have also been in contact with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and the local police department in Crawford County, Georgia.

“After discussions with the FBI and law enforcement in Georgia, we have determined that the information was meant for law enforcement in Crawford County, Georgia and not Crawford County, Ohio,” Sheriff Kent said. “Our office, along with local police departments, take the safety of all our children seriously and have been working with the school districts to ensure the safety and security of all students and staff in Crawford County.”
