Luke Combs Reveals If He'd Ever Crossover To Pop Music

Luke Combs is a force to be reckoned with in country music despite only releasing one full-length album. With number one songs and sold out tours, is Combs now thinking of crossing over to dominate other genres?

Many country artists including Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris, and most-notably Taylor Swift have had great success dipping their toes into pop music and Combs recently opened up about doing the same.

In a new interview with The Boot, The "Beer Never Broke My Heart" singer discussed the idea of potentially making more than just country music and trying his hand at a pop song. "I don't think that I would be against it in any way," he explained. "I don't think there's any part of me that would really love to push for it. It's not a thing that keeps me up at night or makes me extra curious in any way."

He went on to explain that when he's writing music he's not thinking of what sound or genre the song could fit into but is more focused on writing the best music he possibly can. "It's definitely not something that I sit down in a writing room and go, 'Could this work on pop radio?' I really just want my fans to love it and come see it live, and have that experience," he said. "That, to me, is the most important thing, making sure the music is good."

In the meantime, fans can expect to hear new music from Combs this fall after he recently announced he would be dropping a new album later this year — can't wait!
