'Somebody Help Me!' Chilling Video Shows Possible Kidnapping in Los Angeles

Police in Southern California are investigating the possible kidnapping of a woman after a doorbell security system captured audible screams in the Leimert Park area of South Los Angeles.

Video released by the Los Angeles Police Department showed a female victim screaming for help several times.

Several witnesses reported hearing a female, described as a black female with dark, braided hair, screaming, "help me, somebody help me."

At the same time, witnesses said they saw a 4-door white Prius with two occupants inside sped off, with the female victim, in the front passenger seat. One witness told police they saw the victim's hair being pulled backward as she was screaming.

The suspect, who is described as a black male, was at the wheel and can also be heard shouting "I'm sorry, I'm sorry."

Officers responded to the scene, but did not find evidence of a kidnapping, the department said. Authorities are asking if anyone recognizes the female victim or male suspect, to please contact Southwest Area Detectives at 213-485-2197.

After hours or on weekends, calls can be directed to 877-LAPD-24-7. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS or lacrimestoppers.org.
