The Ribbon Is Cut at Marion Tech Downtown!

The Marion County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and Members, City officials, staff, family and friends held a ceremonial ribbon cutting to mark the opening of Marion Technical College’s new campus at 107 N. Main Street, Marion, Ohio.

Marion Tech Down houses the Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy and Aspire classes for those studying to get their General Education Equivalency (GED) certificate. Marion Tech Workforce Solutions also offers custom classes for local employees as well as a Pearson testing site for those getting certifications.

In addition, America’s Workforce Development Capital is based at this new location to bring new business to Marion and promote all of the training opportunities to employers and employees. Small businesses getting started have the availability to rent office space at an affordable price as well as consult with a small business expert through a partnership with Ashland University. MarionMade! and the Small Business Development Association are also in this new location.

“It is exciting to be a part of downtown Marion!” said Dr. Ryan McCall, president of Marion Tech. “We hope this will increase access to students to a familiar location as well as help us deepen our relationships with local businesses. What a great way to mark our 50th year with a new location to serve our students and our community in new ways.”

The new campus opened thanks to a grant from the Marion Community Foundation. For more information, visit Marion Technical College’s website at mtc.edu and follow them on Facebook: www.facebook.com/MarionTechnicalCollege.
