The Marion County Sherriff's Department may be moving to a new building. The Marion County Commissioners have entered a 1.2 million dollar agreement to buy the META Solutions building at 100 Executive Drive in Marion. The 80,000 square foot business building will be used as the new Sheriff’s office.
The offer was made to buy the building last month to replace the problematic building on Marion Williamsport Road.
META Solutions will remain in the building on a lease agreement.The sale is not final, with closing expected to happen within two months.
The money to pay for the building is already available in the county's capital fund, from money collected from the county’s sales tax.
