Sing 2 Playing at The Marion Palace Theater

The Palace Cultural Arts Association (PCAA) is pleased to announce movie weekends at the Marion Palace Theatre will resume this weekend. Movie-goers will be among the first to enjoy an elevated listening experience with the newly installed state-of-the-art sound system designed by Eighth Day Sound, a subsidiary of Clair Integration. The $200,000 installation project was subsidized by The Marion Palace Theatre Perpetual Care Fund and The Robert and Dorothy Wopat Community Fund at the Marion Community Foundation.

On January 21 and January 23, the Palace will feature the animated comedy-adventure film “Sing 2.” The featured title on the weekend of January 28, 29, and 30 will be “West Side Story.” The Palace Theatre is located at 276 W. Center Street in Marion, Ohio.

“Sing 2,” follows the Can-do koala Buster Moon and his all-star cast of animal performers as they prepare to launch a dazzling stage extravaganza. There's just one hitch -- he must find and persuade the world's most reclusive rock star to join them. Starring Matthew McConaughey, Taron Egerton, Scarlett Johansson and Reese Witherspoon, “Sing 2” is rated PG for rude material and mild peril/violence and runs 1 hour, 50 minutes. Show times are Friday, January 21 at 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, January 23 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon will show with open captions.

Admission prices for movies are $4 for all ages and $2 for current 2021-2022 PCAA members presenting a valid membership card. Concessions are available and are reasonably priced. Items available for purchase include 20 oz. Pepsi products, popcorn, and boxed theater candy for $2 each.

The Palace will continue to observe current safety guidelines. Policies and guidelines will continue to evolve with time and will be assessed and updated on an ongoing basis. While masks are not required at the Palace, the CDC recommends them for all guests regardless of vaccination status. When masks are worn, they may be removed for eating and drinking. Capacity restrictions and social distancing requirements are lifted. For more information call the Marion Palace Theatre Box Office at 740-383-2101 or visit www.marionpalace.org.
