A man in Crawford County is dead after a police involved shooting. An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper stopped 27 year old Aaron Clifford Rife, as he walked along Route 39 near milepost two. The trooper saw that Rife had a shotgun, Aaron Rife, then fired the shotgun at trooper's cruiser and ran north into a field.
Rife was then spotted by a deputy walking to a home on Lydell Road in Tiro (TYE-roe). Rife entered the home, and then came out of the home, approached the officers, pointed his gun at the officers and then was shot.
The incident remains under investigation.
