Marion Man Indicted For Punching A Man On Facebook Live

A Marion man was  indicted  on felony assault charges Wednesday.  Thirty-year-old Thomas C. Patton, of 711 Davids Street in Marion, is accused of beating a man and recording it using Facebook Live.  Patton was arrested after officers found videos on his Facebook page in which Patton said he was going to punch the first person he saw walking.

Marion police officers were called September 20th to the 400 block of Silver Street, where they found a 21-year-old man bleeding from his nose, according to an affidavit filed in Marion Municipal Court.

The man later went to the hospital for a broken nose, he told officers he was walking down the street when a stranger asked him how he was doing and then punched him several times in the face. Patton was arrested and admitted to punching the man because he had a bad day.
