Thomas Rhett Nostalgic New Single, 'Sixteen'

Thomas Rhett’s newest single, “Sixteen” is a reminiscent nod to his youth, but this track won’t leave you weeping for your glory days. The “Life Changes” singer pays homage to his adolescence by citing milestones and giving those moments credit for helping to craft the wonderful life that he now shares with Lauren Akins and his two daughters.

“As a kid, you can’t wait to reach that next milestone, but when you’re older, you look back and wish you could just be 16, or 18 or 21 again,” Rhett tells Cody Alan.

Thomas Rhett, Joe Spargur, and Sean Douglas certainly have a special talent for songwriting and finding a positive spin on the fact that we all go through the stages of growing up and wishing our lives away. This is the perfect track to reminisce on those dreaded curfews and early morning student driving classes.

Rhett is releasing ‘Life Changes Deluxe’ on Sept. 21, which comes almost a year after the release of his sixth studio album, 'Life Changes’. The deluxe album will include three new tracks, “Country Gold,” “Cardboard Heart” and “When We’re 80.” You can catch Rhett with Midland and Brett Young out on the road through October with the 'Life Changes Tour.'
