In the two-minute teaser, viewers see the pop titan wrestle with her public image and discuss her escape from the spotlight prior to her reputation album campaign. However, as Swifties are aware, the chart-topper has found the light at the end of tunnel and its something she credits to herself. "I feel really good about not being muzzled anymore, and it was my own doing," she says at one point. Swift recently told Variety that the film will dig deep into her many controversies, including her tense relationship with Kanye West.
"In this revealing documentary, Taylor Swift embraces her role as a songwriter and performer — and as a woman harnessing the full power of her voice," reads the description of the film title on the streaming platform. The doc will also arrive with a new song titled "Only the Young."
The film, which was directed by Emmy winner Lana Wilson and produced by Academy Award winner Morgan Nevill, is in collaboration with Tremolo Production. Among the other production credits for the film include Academy Award winner Caitrin Rogers and Christine O’Malle. Taylor Swift: Miss Americana hits Netflix and select theaters on January 31.
