Gabby Barrett “CANT HANDLE” the excitement of Country Music Awards nominations.

The “I Hope” songbird took to her social media channels on Thursday morning (September 9) to express her excitement. The CMA announcement came shortly before Barrett posted her reaction, and it turns out she’s a leading lady in the nominations this year. Barrett, 21, is nominated for four awards: Female Vocalist of the Year, New Artist of the Year, Single of the Year and Song of the Year.

The latter two categories are for “The Good Ones,” a heartfelt track that serves as a tribute to Barrett’s husband, Cade Foehner, 25. The pair of American Idol alums tied the knot in 2019. Barrett posted her video after awaking “two seconds ago” to take a call from her manager, who delivered the news that Barrett is up for four CMA Awards this year. That makes her the “most nominated female, are you kidding me?!” Barrett gushed.

Barrett is among Carly Pearce, Miranda Lambert, Ashley McBryde and Maren Morris in the Female Vocalist of the Year category. She’s up against Mickey Guyton, Jimmie Allen, Hardy and Ingrid Andress for the New Artist of the Year award.

The CMA Awards are slated to take place in Nashville on Wednesday, November 10. The show will air on ABC. See the rest of the nominees here.
